    • Climbing (the term includes bouldering, auto-belaying, top rope climbing and belaying, lead climbing and belaying) is a physical activity, conducted at height. Climbing carries with it a risk of injury, which could include serious injury and in some cases, death. Participants must be aware of and accept the risks inherent with this activity.
    • You acknowledge that you are responsible for your own actions and behaviour.
    • Some of our experiences are supervised by an instructor. You acknowledge that this does not waive your responsibility to act with due care, in accordance with your ability and skill level.
    • If you participate in an unsupervised activity you represent and warrant to us you have the appropriate skill and ability in climbing to do so. You understand that where you climb-belay with a partner, you are responsible for acting with due care and attention.
    • Our safety rules and instructions are in place to help you. If you do not follow our rules and instructions, it is more likely you, or someone around you will suffer an injury.
    • Climbing beyond your capabilities on any wall is likely to result in a fall. Any fall may result in an injury despite the safety systems in place to avoid it. You must make your own assessment of the risks whenever you climb.
    • There is an additional risk that bolt-on holds can spin or break and this may result in a fall or other injury. Spinning holds (or 'spinners') must be reported to staff immediately. CLYMB cannot be held responsible for any injury that you may sustain as a result of a spinning hold.
    • The soft flooring under the climbing walls are designed to provide a more comfortable landing for climbers falling or jumping from the climbing walls. The soft flooring does not make the climbing any safer. Broken and sprained limbs are common, despite the soft landing. Uncontrolled falls are likely to result in injuries to yourself or others.
    • Other risks include: falls from the wall that result in bodily impact against the wall or the ground; injuries to individuals observing the climbing wall that result from others slipping, tripping, or falling from the wall; injuries resulting from slipping, tripping or falling from the wall; injuries resulting from being dropped to the ground during belaying or lowering; and injuries associated with failure of equipment including, but not limited to ropes, slings, harnesses, climbing hardware, anchor points, or any other part of the climbing wall structure.

  7. If you are unsure about whether you qualify to participate, please discuss your concerns with a member of staff.

  8. Supervising a Junior Climber
    • If you are supervising a Junior Climber, you represent, warrant and undertake to CLYMB that you are competent to do so and have the required level of skill and experience. You agree to supervise the Junior Climber competently. You agree that you are solely responsible for the actions and/or omissions of yourself and the Junior Climber and agree to supervise a Junior Climber at your own risk. You warrant, represent and undertake that you are the parent or legal guardian of the Junior Climber, or you have obtained the consent of the parent or legal guardian of the Junior Climber. You agree that you are solely responsible for any property damage or personal injury arising out of your decision to supervise a Junior Climber.
